Walking & Outdoor Safety
At ReTreat Pet Services LLC, your dog’s safety is built into every step we take. We conduct thorough gear inspections before every outing to ensure harnesses and leashes are secure and in top condition. While we maintain a strict 'no off-leash' policy in undesignated areas and follow rigorous street-crossing protocols, we love providing off-leash exercise for dogs with reliable recall at Carmel Beach, Mission Trails, Garland, and Rip Van Winkle Open Space. To keep those sensitive paws safe, our team proactively monitors weather conditions and pavement temperatures throughout the day.
In-Home & Hotel Security
Your home's security is as important to us as your pet's safety. Whether we are visiting your home or a hotel, we take extra care with every entry and exit to ensure your space remains secure and your pets are safely contained. We keep keys safely on our person throughout the visit and double-check that everything is properly closed and locked anytime we leave. We use secure lockboxes or codes for access, ensuring your keys are always handled with care and stored safely between visits.
Emergency Response Protocols
Every team member is trained in Pet First Aid and CPR, with formal certification completed within their first 90 days. We maintain comprehensive digital profiles for every pet—including medical history, allergies, and primary vet info. To ensure seamless care during the unexpected, we maintain signed authorizations for emergency veterinary treatment and designated emergency pet guardianship. Our staff is trained to execute these procedures with calm, decisive action under any pressure.

The roots of ReTreat Pet Services are grounded in over a decade of dedicated animal education and care. Founder Kyra Neilly spent ten years within the 4-H Dog Project, learning dog training and leadership skills. This foundational experience evolved into a leadership role where she mentored younger participants in training their family dogs. Coupled with a childhood in Girl Scouts, these formative years instilled a commitment to strategic planning and collaborative problem-solving. Having been raised alongside large-breed dogs, Kyra’s professional journey is informed by a lifetime of practical, hands-on experience.

How do I know your team members can be trusted in my home?
Every ReTreat team member passes a national-level criminal background check before their first visit. We are fully insured, bonded, and covered by workers' compensation. Before any service begins, we require a complimentary in-person Meet & Greet so you can meet your care providers face to face — because handing someone your house key should never feel like a leap of faith.What makes ReTreat different from Rover or a solo sitter I find online?
Three things: accountability, consistency, and structure. On Rover, you're hiring an individual with no agency behind them. With ReTreat, you have a W-2 employer who trains, manages, and stands behind every team member. If your sitter is ever unavailable, we have coverage — you are never left without care. Absolutely. We provide in-home care for dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, and other companion animals.
