Our Tailored Approach to Care

At ReTreat Pet Services LLC, we believe that compassion is the foundation of every interaction. We recognize that every family and every pet has unique needs. Whether it's a giant breed dog or a sensitive house bunny, our philosophy is rooted in understanding their individual personality and routine.

Individualized Attention

We tailor our services specifically to your pet's temperament and your family's schedule.

No Size Limits

We embrace dogs of all sizes, ensuring that every gentle giant receives the same quality of care as the smallest pup.

Team Value

We are deeply committed to enhancing the lives of both our clients and their beloved animal companions. We provide consistent, high-quality service across all visits with all team members.

Your Pet's Safety is Our Priority

Rigorous protocols designed to give you total peace of mind while your pets are in our care.

Walking & Outdoor Safety

At ReTreat Pet Services LLC, your dog’s safety is built into every step we take. We conduct thorough gear inspections before every outing to ensure harnesses and leashes are secure and in top condition. While we maintain a strict 'no off-leash' policy in undesignated areas and follow rigorous street-crossing protocols, we love providing off-leash exercise for dogs with reliable recall at Carmel Beach, Mission Trails, Garland, and Rip Van Winkle Open Space. To keep those sensitive paws safe, our team proactively monitors weather conditions and pavement temperatures throughout the day.

In-Home & Hotel Security

Your home's security is as important to us as your pet's safety. Whether we are visiting your home or a hotel, we take extra care with every entry and exit to ensure your space remains secure and your pets are safely contained. We keep keys safely on our person throughout the visit and double-check that everything is properly closed and locked anytime we leave. We use secure lockboxes or codes for access, ensuring your keys are always handled with care and stored safely between visits.

Emergency Response Protocols

Every team member is trained in Pet First Aid and CPR, with formal certification completed within their first 90 days. We maintain comprehensive digital profiles for every pet—including medical history, allergies, and primary vet info. To ensure seamless care during the unexpected, we maintain signed authorizations for emergency veterinary treatment and designated emergency pet guardianship. Our staff is trained to execute these procedures with calm, decisive action under any pressure.

The Heart Behind ReTreat

A journey of compassion, research, and a lifelong love for our animal companions.

The Foundation

Leadership & Expertise

The roots of ReTreat Pet Services are grounded in over a decade of dedicated animal education and care. Founder Kyra Neilly spent ten years within the 4-H Dog Project, learning dog training and leadership skills. This foundational experience evolved into a leadership role where she mentored younger participants in training their family dogs. Coupled with a childhood in Girl Scouts, these formative years instilled a commitment to strategic planning and collaborative problem-solving. Having been raised alongside large-breed dogs, Kyra’s professional journey is informed by a lifetime of practical, hands-on experience.

The Vision

Impact Beyond Care

Kyra’s professional philosophy is driven by a desire to provide more than just standard pet care; she aims to facilitate a transformative impact for both animals and their families. This vision extends to the professional environment she has cultivated—a company that prioritizes the well-being and growth of its employees as much as the safety of the pets in its charge.

July 2025 – Early 2026

The Evolution

While the company was officially established in July 2025, its public launch was the result of a deliberate, multi-month developmental phase. With over 13 years of industry experience and five years of strategic contemplation, Kyra navigated the complexities of business ownership with the guidance of seasoned mentors. After a brief period of refinement to ensure every operational detail met her exacting standards, the brand moved from a passion project to a fully realized community service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to commonly asked questions about our pet care services.

Is ReTreat a solo sitter or an agency?

ReTreat is a fully licensed LLC and a professional agency. Rather than assigning you one person, we build you a small, dedicated team of 2–4 vetted care providers who all know your pets, your home, and your routines. That means seamless coverage whether it's a Tuesday walk or a two-week trip — no scrambling, no gaps, no strangers showing up unannounced. The agency was founded by Kyra Neilly, who brings 13+ years of hands-on animal care experience to every hire, every policy, and every standard we hold our team to.

How do I know your team members can be trusted in my home?

Every ReTreat team member passes a national-level criminal background check before their first visit. We are fully insured, bonded, and covered by workers' compensation. Before any service begins, we require a complimentary in-person Meet & Greet so you can meet your care providers face to face — because handing someone your house key should never feel like a leap of faith.

What makes ReTreat different from Rover or a solo sitter I find online?

Three things: accountability, consistency, and structure. On Rover, you're hiring an individual with no agency behind them. With ReTreat, you have a W-2 employer who trains, manages, and stands behind every team member. If your sitter is ever unavailable, we have coverage — you are never left without care. We also carry proper business insurance and follow PSI's Global Standards for the pet care industry.

Are your sitters certified in Pet First Aid / CPR?

Yes. Every ReTreat team member is certified in Pet First Aid & CPR, with certification completed within their first 90 days and sponsored by the company. We also maintain a detailed digital profile for every pet — including medical history, allergies, medications, and your veterinarian's contact information — so we can act quickly and correctly if anything comes up.

Do you care for pets other than dogs?

Absolutely. We provide in-home care for dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, and other companion animals. If you have a multi-species household — say, two dogs, a cat, and some backyard chickens — you can book one visit that covers everyone. No need to coordinate multiple providers.

What does a typical visit look like, and will I get updates?

After every single visit, you receive a detailed report through our client platform, Time To Pet — including feeding and potty notes, observations about your pet's mood and behavior, and a photo gallery from the visit. You'll never be left wondering. Whether you're at work down the street or on a flight to another country, you'll know your pet is okay.

How do I get started?

The first step is a free Meet & Greet — an in-person visit where you'll meet your care provider, walk them through your pet's routine, and ask any questions you have. There's no pressure and no commitment required. You can request one through the Get in Touch page or by calling us directly at (831) 222-0197.
